The coating has a low initial viscosity that wets and penetrates the surface to the origin of the rust. By using it’s moisture curing mechanism, RustSeal combines with atmospheric moisture to start the curing process of the resins expanding and interlocking within the pores of the rust. This unique process literally enables the coating to galvanize itself to the material, becoming an integral part of the surface. While RustSeal will indeed provide superior rust protection when coated directly over a minimally prepared surface, only our unique 3 Step Total Rust Eradication System offers the proper surface preparation and unmatched rust stopping power. While the KBS coating has a moderate level of UV stability, the finish will dull and fade if exposed for extended periods to direct sunlight. RustSeal can be top-coated with any topcoat system you choose for a bright, lasting shine finish. Also excellent for garage floors Note: Coverage is approx. 7sqm per litter at 25 micron thickness. It can be rolled and brushed, but with high temp paint, thickness is critical - too thick and the paint will blister. Spraying is the recommended application process as you are able to easily ensure coating thickness is optimal.
